is the daughter of an educator and organizer and she never strayed far from there. Graduating from Loyola Marymount University, with a Bachelor’s degree she enrolled in a graduate and credentialing program and began teaching high school. Soon into her teaching career she began to see areas at her school site in need of change and found herself taking on more supervisory roles tasked with process. A site administrator encouraged her to join the administrative team and she never looked back. She found her calling in organizational leadership and pursued a second master’s degree ultimately leading to an administrative services credentialing program.
After eleven years at both the high school and elementary school levels, it was time for Allison to put her administrative skills to work. She was invited to a dinner hosted by the district superintendent and in attendance were recent graduates of the administrative programs. Each were called to step forward. The following year Allison took on the role of school principal and her passion for education and organization flourished. She focused on school improvement and successfully upturned failing budgets, insufficient staffing, antiquated instructional practices, inefficient processes and procedures and desperate needs for technology and infrastructure upgrades. She was fondly referred to as a change agent after her first few years as principal and she embraced that label with gratitude.
For the past 10+ years, Allison has served in school communities in an official school administrator capacity. In primary roles, she experienced first-hand the difficulty balancing the operational needs of the school with the visibility and availability needs of the community. In supporting roles, she was able to help identify these gaps and assist in sharing administrative tasks to allow the lead to take a more visible and available role. She found that her extensive knowledge and experience gave her a unique perspective into the life of a school administrator. Her ambition is to share support and lighten the load for fellow administrators, so that they can focus on what matters most - the students.
